Starting from the heart of Lucca, within moments, we’ll find ourselves amidst some of the region’s most captivating hills, surrounded by endless olive groves and picturesque vineyards. At one of the area’s renowned local enotecas, we’ll raise our glasses to the week of exploration and excitement that awaits. Back at our cosy hotel, we’ll freshen up and get ready for an unforgettable five-star dinner at one of the town’s finest restaurants. This is just the beginning of a remarkable Tuscan cycling adventure.

Today, the heart of our adventure beckons! We’ll set out on a cycling journey that promises to be unforgettable. Our path initially winds along flat, tranquil roads, flanked by endless miles of lush vineyards and venerable olive groves. After the first exhilarating 30 kilometres, we’ll find ourselves in Cecina, a place famous for its enchanting cypress avenue. As we journey forth, we’ll meet a series of ascents and descents that will truly invigorate the spirit, especially as we reach the captivating Monte Scudaio. Following an exhilarating descent, we’ll pass through the picturesque Montecatini Val di Cecina. Here, the medieval Belforti Tower perches atop a verdant hill, providing us with a glimpse of a unique historical heritage before we break for lunch. Our route continues, guiding us through pastoral landscapes and the lush farmland of Tuscany. It’s a journey that culminates in the enchanting town of Volterra, a hilltop gem known for its distinctive urban layout, which serves as a beautiful reminder of its Etruscan origins. In Radda, we’ll pause for a visit to a distinguished winery, where we’ll have the delightful opportunity to savour its finest wines and sample other delectable local treats. Once back in the saddle, we’ll pedal along tranquil country roads that wind through endless vineyards and age-old olive groves, traversing the scenic rolling countryside that unfurls before us. Our day’s adventure reaches its culmination in the enchanting city of Siena, where we’ll indulge in a gourmet dinner.

Civitella Paganico lies in a territory that is also home to the famed Petriolo Hot Springs—a site renowned for its thermal baths, steeped in history dating back to antiquity. Here, we’ll have the chance to experience the rejuvenating properties of these soothing waters before we continue on our route. Amid our adventure, we’ll pause to savour a traditional lunch at one of our preferred local trattorias—a moment to relish the flavours of the region. Our path guides us through the Basso Merse Natural Reserve, a tranquil haven of natural beauty, and leads us to the day’s final destination: Montalcino. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted by the opportunity to explore Fosso Bianco—a must-see natural wonder. This enchanting stream nestled in the woods is where several hot springs converge, creating a year-round haven for those who wish to indulge in a refreshing swim. As we journey through the heart of the Val D’Orcia, we’ll encounter a wealth of delightful traditional trattorias, perfect for a cyclist-friendly lunch—a well-deserved respite. Today we’ll pedal along dreamy roads through lush rolling hills punctuated by Etruscan villages, passing through Orvieto, one of the most memorable hilltop towns in central Italy, renowned for its magnificent cathedral and the Etruscan Temple of Belvedere. We’ll hop on our bikes again along the roads that Gino Bartali also rode to get to Assisi. We’ll meet three gradual climbs followed by flatland, across an untouched landscape in the heart of Umbria, where we will stop at one of our favourite eateries to enjoy local food and wine. We’ll continue our route along smooth roads across idyllic countryside to get to Assisi, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, famous for its Basilica of San Francesco. In the afternoon you will have the chance to visit the most beautiful sights in town, before a professional post-ride massage and a unique five-star dinner.

As the day begins with a sumptuous gourmet breakfast, we’re set for a remarkable morning ride that will take us through some of the most breathtaking regions in Italy. We’ll traverse the border that separates Umbria from Marche, a land renowned for its captivating landscape, akin to a vividly painted canvas coming to life. Our route will guide us through several charming medieval villages like Gualdo Tadino, each one a treasure trove of art and history. Here, we’ll pause for a delightful wine-tasting experience and embrace the chance to relish local delicacies such as Ascolana olives and delectable white truffles, a true culinary delight. Our journey crescendos with awe-inspiring coastal panoramas, culminating in our arrival at the enchanting town of Ancona.
